I have been developing websites and custom online tools in various capacities including freelance engagements and salaried positions since 2002 when I started on my path by learning Flash 4 after playing an online miniature golf flash game and wanting to learn how to create my own game.From there, I learned HTML, CSS, and Photoshop and began making websites for small businesses and learning the basics of technical SEO. Once I made the jump from HTML to the combination of PHP/MySQL, I could create interactive web tools with persistence for the first time, and I was instantly hooked on the idea of custom CMS development! Since then, I have worked with multiple PHP libraries and frameworks and learned a lot of JavaScript on the way along with some jQuery for custom tools and calculators, some using AJAX. In my current role I work primarily on adding custom functionality to sites in MODX, Magento, WordPress, Drupal, and many other systems. I have worked with the setup and configuration of numerous APIs including SalesForce, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many others for website integration.In addition to this, I am a motion graphics artist and interactive visuals software programmer with a focus on projector based art installations and accompaniment for music or other live performances. I primarily work in combination with multiple tools with a focus on the visuals IDE for Java called Processing. Utilizing a number of different libraries, I have experience utilizing cameras for object detection, motion tracking, augmented reality. Second to that, I utilize Xbox Kinect depth cameras for receiving depth sensor data for use in custom visuals software that can be routed through modul8 and MadMapper for further composition or projection mapping. I have consulted with The Museum of Fine Arts Houston multiple times to setup unique, interactive, and site specific art installations for their Mixed Media quarterly after hours events. In addition to working with the MFAH, I have worked with numerous other locations and venues around town including Asia Society Houston Center, Moores Opera Houseat The University of Houston, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Discovery Green, George R. Brown Convention Center, Spring Street Studios, Post Houston, and many more.
