As the ICT Team Leader I recognised that the team required a structured corporate approach. I documented policies and procedures, modified the ICT methodology to fault recording, and introduced Service Desk fault codes.Route Cause Analysis of the service desk requests enabled the targeting of specific preventable requests. I introduced the practice of standardisation within the ICT environment, and innovation with the rollout of 64bit computingand windows 7.

In the Configuration Management (CM) group I was involved in the creation and auditing of configurations for IP Routers and Switches for the Titan project. Working tightly with the individual project groups I was able to support their CM requirements. I developed software to automate the auditing process of the configs, software and hardware of the various technologies that made up the Titan project. During 2004/2005 I spent time off shift to coordinate national field projects that saved the client over $3 million while generating $170,000 of work to Silcar. While working on these projects I also developed software for other groups and wrote over 30 procedures and work instructions for the STOC.g. I developed an application in vb.net to interface between the clients’ Oracle DBOR and Silcar’s SQL DBOR. The application is used to process all planned events requiring Silcar approval.
