Profile bio

About Tim Struemke

I began my career as a Machinist fabricating parts and assemblies, migrated into the design side of manufacturing, then on to leading teams and management. I have a solid understanding of manufacturing methods and processes, mechanical design schemes, and experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Some notable projects include:• Design and build a new platform of laser machining center, the Medpro, targeting the medical device manufacturing industry. This machine was debuted at the MD&M show in Minneapolis, MN.• Planned, and executed the plan to implement new sales techniques leveraging SolidWorks CAD models using Rendering Workstations, SolidWorks Professional and SolidWorks Composer to author animation type movies used to clearly articulate the concept of a proposed laser system work cell. This method greatly compressed the sales phase and critically increased alignment with customers’ expectations.• Helped with a patented debris collection mechanism for use with laser converting of films.• Owning and operating a successful computer aided design company, requiring the ability to satisfy customers in regard to concept, budget, timeline, and deliverable, while providing personable service.• Coordinate administration and usage of cad tools at Boston Scientific. • Helped in coordinating efforts to train and align seventy-five vendors with the implementation of and use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in regard to all design and build activity processed through the Model Shop.• Mitigated vendor costs by insourcing the conception of, processing of, and production of injection molded components creating the IS-4 lead terminal. Estimated savings were projected to exceed $30 million annually.

Listed skills include Solidworks, Product Design, Manufacturing, Injection Molding, and 25 others.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Using SolidWorks, DBWorks Enterprise, and ERP tools (Syspro), I supported the bundling of all Preco offerings and focused on three major elements of the pre-sales process: technical illustration and graphical representation of the customer’s request, financial and business model development to quickly articulate in a simple graphical format capital costs as they impact per unit costs over time and finally articulate product output expectations based on quality, accuracy and features. Organize, lead, and participate in meetings to provide direction to cross-functional teams.Notable projects include:• Design and build a new platform of laser machining center, the Medpro, targeting the medical device manufacturing industry. This machine was debuted at the MD&M show in Minneapolis, MN.• Helped with a patented debris collection mechanism for use with laser converting of films.• Planned, and executed the plan to implement new sales techniques leveraging SolidWorks CAD models using Rendering Workstations, SolidWorks Professional and SolidWorks Composer to author animation type movies used to clearly articulate the concept of a proposed laser system work cell. This method greatly compressed the sales phase and critically increased alignment with customers’ expectations.• Planned and implemented the distribution of iPads to all sales managers at Preco for use in effectively communicating with customers and internal stakeholders using Facetime, Airplay, Edrawings Professional, Dropbox and other applications.* In support of the iPad campaign, I then proctored trainings in front of groups and also via gotomeeting online using webcams, screen sharing and teleconferencing.
