Tim Sunner is a Principal Engineer and Partner of Becker Sunner Consulting Pty Ltd in Mackay Queensland, having recently joined with Caitie Becker of Becker Project Solutions. Tim graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Engineering – Civil (Hons) in 2002, and began working in the heavy development and engineering industry with Ullman and Nolan Consulting, acquiring the foundations of construction, design and project management knowledge and experience.In 2006 Tim took the opportunity to develop his skillset further as a Mining Engineer for BHP Billiton, a world leading resource company, with over 80,000 employees and contractors. With a focus on leadership, development and training, Tim gained the skills and experience in design and planning for the full lifecycle and operation of large-scale, multi-billion dollar mining and resource supply and distribution business.In 2012, Tim moved back into consulting managing engineering projects in the Whitsunday region. Through this experience, he was able to diversify his knowledge and gain valuable experience with other Tier 1 Resources organisations, including Thiess Australian Mining, again with BHP and finally Glencore. With BHP and Glencore, Tim gained valuable Management Experience in senior Management roles and working closely with Finance and Marketing in both Organisations.In 2017, Tim returned to the Development and Civil Engineering Industry, moving back to Mackay to work as the Business Development Manager for Vassallo Constructions. Then, in 2018, Mackay Regional Council created the Capital Works Department to manage the planning and delivery of the Council’s Capital Works Program. Tim took the opportunity to get back to develop his business skills and first passion of Civil Engineering Design as the Design Manager, managing a team of internal designers and surveyors, and external Profession Engineering Consultants to action the Council's detailed design delivery. Having worked closely with Caitie Becker at Mackay Regional Council, in 2022 Tim made the decision to take the most exciting step in his career and join with Caitie as a Director to form the company Becker Sunner Consulting. With their combined expertise and diverse experience, Caitie and Tim offer the Development and Engineering Industry in Mackay, Isaac and the Whitsundays with a new and dynamic option to provide quality professional services to the development industry and local government, specialising in the development process, strategic and infrastructure engineering and project delivery.
