My background is in Procurement and IT and my current role is Procurement and Manufacturing Support Manager at Sealy New Zealand. Prior to this role I founded and grew a successful business start up after leaving my role as Procurement Manager at Winstone Wallboards Ltd, the manufacturer of GIB plasterboard and compounds, in 2009.During my time at Sealy and Gib I am responsible for managing the materials supply chain, the majority of materials being sourced from overseas. I also manage the Inwards Goods function and warehouses at both companiesNew product development was a key part of the GIB environment and I worked closely with the development teams sourcing new and innovative materials.I was one of five who sat on the Fletcher Building energy steering group where I had the responsibility for all gas contracts for the FBU Group business units in NZ. I was also involved in managing the electricity hedge contracts for the FBU group.Before taking the manager role at GIB I was Procurement Analyst at the Warehouse Group Ltd which included all of the retail stores for The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery and the distribution centres, my role there was Non Trade which was anything that is not sold within the stores. The Warehouse supply chain environment was supplier performance management led and involved financial analysis and detailed service and supply contracts. During my time at The Warehouse I exceeded all of my annual savings goals and improved the relationships between the suppliers within my portfolio and my internal stakeholders.Prior to moving in to procurement I was in IT where I predominantly held team leader roles, managing a team of 8 engineers within the Warehouse Ltd.I work well under pressure both as part as a team and as an individual. I am used to handling challenging situations and adapting to change and I am quick to take the initiative. I have learned to work to tight deadlines, work with colleagues at all levels and prioritise in a multi task environment. I have good experience of taking key roles within a project environment, managing and motivating a team. Through my leadership roles in IT I have also learned how to keep a cool head in a crisis.
