As Manager - Exploration, South America, my role expanded in scope to include leading regional opportunity studies in South America. These studies are directed at developing a detailed and fundamental understandings of regional to prospect scale geology and geophysics, strategic potential, and above ground risk, in an effort to identify areas for exploration opportunity capture, portfolio growth and diversification. The role also continues to include supporting CNOOC's non-operated assets in Brazil including partner managements and communication, acting JV representative (TCR), facilitating internal balloting, and budgeting, and facilitating technical meetings and technical (G&G) reviews with teams in Houston, Calgary, and Beijing.

As Team Lead, Brazil Exploration, I was responsible for supporting CNOOC's non-operated assets in Brazil including partner management and communication, acting JV representative (TCR), technical oversight and Operator QC, facilitating internal balloting, and budgeting, and facilitating technical meetings and technical (G&G) reviews with teams in Houston, Calgary, and Beijing. I also initiated the HSE and regulator work for an Operated block in Brazil along with an AMI with a large NOC.

Team Lead of the Guyana Stabroek Asset for CNOOC International, managing a team of Jr. to Sr. staff overseeing non-op exploration and appraisal activities on the License. While in this role the team has drilled discoveries at Snoek, Pacora, Ranger, Turbot, Longtail, Hammerhead, Pluma, Haimara, Tilapia, Yellowtail, and Tripletail. My responsibilities also extend into advising and co-ordinating with New Ventures, Commercial, and Strategic Planning with regard to activities in the Guyana basin.

Sr. Geoscientist for the Guyana Stabroek Asset, responsible for prospect generation, maturation, volumetric and risk assessment. Drilled the Liza Discovery, which was the largest oil discovery globally in 2015. Worked on both the Liza and Payara appraisal and license exploration programs, technically maturing Liza-2, Liza-3, Liza-Deep, Skipjack-1, Payara-1, Payara-2.

Lead geoscientist responsible for New Venture and regional evaluation of the South America Transform Margin (Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, NE Brazil). Evaluated over 15 data rooms and completed a regional assessment that underpinned high grading of acreage for Bid-Rounds and License entry. I was the lead geoscientist that evaluated and recommended the farm-in of Nexen-CNOOC to the Stabroek Block, Guyana. This established a core company asset and has resulted in 25+ discoveries to date.

I was the lead geologist of a regional assessment of the Central Graben, U.K. I was responsible for regional and prospect scale seismic mapping at the Tertiary, Cretaceous, and Jurassic Play levels on multiple 3D datasets. I created a new play focused workflow for Well Success-Failure Analysis, which was adopted by the company, and ran all wells within the study area through it. I contributed to multiple application in the 26th U.K. licensing round which resulted in the capture of several blocks. I was also responsible for maturation of Tertiary and Jurassic aged prospects in the newly acquired licenses.

I was the lead geologist of a ground up regional technical assessment of West Africa (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin). I performed regional horizon mapping on 2D seismic data, created reservoir, source, and seal distribution maps, all of which fed into regional CRS maps. The regional study underpinned the strategic direction of our West African new ventures activity and high grading of exploration acreage.

I was relocated to London, U.K. as part of my developmental rotation to work as part of the Nexen Norway New Venture group. As part of this team I was responsible for identification of prospective open licenses based on regional and prospect scale geophysical and geological assessments. I contributed to the geoscience assessments and compilation of applications for licenses in the APA 2009, APA 2010, and 21st Norway Licensing rounds.

I was responsible for prospect maturation on acquired licenses in the North Viking Graben, Norway. This included seismic interpretation, prospect identification and definition, and volumetric and risk assessment in primarily Jurassic Plays. I worked on the Norwegian APA 2008 and the 20th Licensing Rounds as part of a new ventures exploration team which successfully submitted 10 applications for Norwegian explorations licenses in 2008.
