Freelance Graphic Designer
I have worked with a wide range of clients throughout New Zealand. Clients have ranged from SMEs such as Koryo Taekwondo and N Cubed to national corporations such as Downer Construction and Auckland Council. Running my own freelance business has allowed me to work in multiple fields of communication design and given me a great insight into the design industry.I have primarily worked in branding and editorial design, but have also provided information design, advertising, creative consultation, social media, web design, and illustration services.
Lecturer
My primary role at Yoobee was to lecture and develop their new programmes Diploma in Creative Marketing and Bachelor of Digital Innovation. Both are a multidisciplinary programmes that combine graphic design, marketing, and business skills. As the sole lecturer for these programmes in Wellington, my role included the creation, delivery and monitoring of teaching material. I was responsible for pastoral care of my students, and creating education plans for individual students. I was responsible for the marking and moderation of assessments, and ensuring quality assurance across campuses. I was heavily involved in the creation and application of teaching material, and was the leading force in rolling it out across the country, ensuring consistency across campuses.During my time at Yoobee I supported the lecturing of the Diploma in Web and Graphic Design, and Diploma in Creative Digital Design. I guest lectured in Animation, Web and several online programmes. I mentored a multitude of new teaching staff, supporting their induction and helping them develop their own teaching practice. During my employment, I gained a number of relevant qualifications including 'Digital Skills for the Workplace' and 'Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (level 5)', both of which enhanced my ability to provide an effective education experience for my students. During my third and final year, I pursed my masters degree. I presented my research in Yoobee's annual research symposium.

I launched their social media, and managed regular advertising.
Graphic Designer
I worked with Hight Design as a freelance contractor. I worked with several large New Zealand clients including Auckland Council, Downer Construction and Citycare. Working alongside a senior designer and a copywriter, I primarily offered print-based graphic design, information design and illustration services to construction tenders. Many jobs had quick turnarounds and could include 100+ pages of information to be laid out.A notable tender I worked on consisted of nearly 30 construction sites. Each site included up to nine detailed illustrative staging graphics. In total there were over 100 graphics which were completed on time and to a high standard within the five week time-frame
Lecturer
I was hired to teach 'Exploring Visual Information I' the second term of the information design minor within the School of Design. After a successful class, my contract was extended and my responsibilities increased. I was hired as the paper lead of the information design minor, teaching data visualisation, wayfinding and professional practice. I was involved in developing a new module and assessment in the communication design degree, incorporating data visualisation into the foundation paper. Alongside a senior lecturer, I created the assessments, learning material and activities for students to engage with. I co-lead the teaching team that semester and I taught one of the first cohorts.Due to the success of my graduate exhibition as a student, my contract was amended so I could project manage the 2017 Graduate Exhibition.
