I am currently an embedded software technical advisor for Cummins in the Cummins Electronics business division for Complex Device Drivers and base software. I've spent the past 9 years trying to advance the state of the art in the way that Cummins practices software engineering from advocating tools and methodologies such as the use of Git and hardware simulation to developing techniques and tools to implement those visions. I lead a team of engineers in developing low level drivers for automotive powertrain on heterogeneous multicore processing systems with strict timing requirements. I spend a lot of time trying to help engineers to think about approaching problem solving from the perspective of how the customer will experience each solution and also help to translate customer system requirements to technical requirements for implementation on microcontrollers as well as performing implementations, troubleshooting implementations, and coordinating peer reviews on implementations.I'm also interested in cryptocurrency smart contract programming and am learning Solidity and Rust for this purpose, as well as mining ethereum and a few other cryptocurrencies.
