I have been working at ELISA Systems in quality for three years now, mostly in quality with some production and R&D involved. Originally employed as a Laboratory Technician, I'm now working as a Laboratory Technical Officer Level 2. Previously I worked at IEH Biotest Laboratories, doing microbial testing as laboratory maintenance, and s I have also done research both as a student and volunteer at the Schenk Lab at the University of Queensland It has been a long road to get to where I am, in part being on the Autistic Spectrum that has made things harder. But since leaving school I have obtained a I have a Masters of Biotechnology at the University of Queensland, a Graduated Diploma of Biotechnology/Molecular Genetics from the University of New England, a Bachelors of Applied Science - Biochemistry, from the Queensland University of Technology, and a Diploma of Laboratory Technology. My skills are mostly orientated towards genetics (PCR, Plasmid creation and cloning, BLAST, and similar), cell culture, clinical biochemistry, protein extraction and general purpose laboratory skills.My ideal job would be to work in a stable position where I can make use of my training and help people, either by research or more directly. However I'm willing and able to be trained in any relevant laboratory job that can be accessed by public transport
