In my current role, I provide tactical support to the Greater Manchester Police Force Duty Officer and Tactical Firearms Commander in the management of critical incidents including; terrorist attacks, firearms discharges, murders and declared major incidents. I am responsible for the authorisation and management of police pursuits in the tactical phase and the deployment of National Police Air Service assets. I manage the risk and triage serious incoming incidents in real-time, ensuring the timely dispatch of specialist police resources. I also manage a team of Police Radio Operators responsible for the coordination and allocation of specialist police resources to serious incidents across the force area. These resources include officers from the Roads Policing Unit, Police Dog Handlers, Police Firearms Officers and the Tactical Aid Unit. In addition, I handle force to force enquiries at command level and regularly liaise with partner agencies such as the Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, National Crime Agency, national and local government and the military. Additionally, I am a Communications Tactical Advisor accredited by the College of Policing. In my spare time, I volunteer as a Sergeant within the Greater Manchester Special Constabulary working alongside regular officers within the City of Manchester District. As a fully warranted Police Officer, my duties include: tackling Anti-Social Behaviour, attending emergency incidents, making arrests and supporting criminal investigations whilst working together with local people and businesses, community groups and partner agencies to promote neighbourhood cohesion between diverse groups with differing social customs and priorities. In addition, the role also demands a commitment to identify emerging crime trends and key offenders and to offer support to repeat victims. I also manage a team of Special Constables and look after their pastoral and developmental needs.During my policing career, I have received the following awards:Special Constabulary Long Service & Good Conduct Medal.Chief Superintendent's Commendation.
