I am a chartered town planner and Director of Waller Planning, a busy, independent town planning consultancy. We work on a wide range of projects, both large and small, including residential, commercial and leisure developments. We also work for a range of Clients, from major developers to private individuals. I have experience of working in both local government and private consultancy. In local government, I have worked on the preparation of a Local Plan and a number of Local Development Framework documents. I now specialise in promoting land for allocation through emerging Local Plans, particularly for residential and employment-led developments. This includes the whole process, from identifying potential development sites, to setting a planning strategy, managing a multi-disciplinary team, preparing representations and taking part in Examinations in Public. I also have extensive experience of preparing and project managing planning applications for various scales and types of development, from several hundred houses and major business parks, to single house developments. I am regularly lead consultant on an application, with the role of briefing, appointing and managing a range of other technical consultants. I have a good understanding of design issues, and have previously undertaken a postgraduate diploma in Urban Design, which informs my planning work.
