Position Role: • Served in a position of authority reporting to the Project Director for the development of land force capabilities. • Coordinated project teams by applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to develop a multifaceted project business case with the objective of achieving final approval at the National Security Committee of Cabinet. • Sole responsibility for assigned projects and management of definition, planning and monitoring.Responsibilities: • Conducted capability definition of allocated projects through all phases in the project life cycle.• Completed capability proposals and capability submissions to support the definition process in accordance with the business case strategy and Government direction.• Managed all internal and external stakeholders through effective stakeholder management.• Managed cost models and project development funds to ensure that project budgets are adhered to.• Developed and maintained the project schedules and effective coordination of project working groups.• Provided specialist input into materiel acquisition process and in-service management of materiel.• Developed and managed project support contracts as required and brief Senior Government, Defence Officials and Committees.• Development of project documentation including risk management matrices, operational concept documents, functional performance specifications, test concept documents, capability infrastructure reports, business cases and cost models. • Capability definition activities including workshops, trials, conferences, exercises, briefs and international demonstrations. • Stakeholder management and external correspondence. This includes Ministerial submissions, letters to the Prime Minister and members of Cabinet, cross-organisational reports, management of diverse stakeholders including Government departments, Defence departments, industry, media and the public.
