• Initially brought in by the Airline COO to implement best practice across an Airline Procurement Team managing an annual spend of £450m. Subsequently assigned to lead the centralisation of the £1b group spend on third.
• Challenged the business strategy in order to extract higher value out of its airport relationships, and subsequently led key negotiations that delivered £10m savings p.a.
• Personally managed the first centralised air capacity tender (covering £100m spend and 24 suppliers), successfully breaking down divisional barriers and exceeding targets with £8m savings.

London Luton Airport, GB

• Dual reporting to both the CFO and COO, I was responsible for an annual Airport Services spend of £1b, representing 45% of non-fuel expenditure
• Drove the 5 year transformation programme to step change the cost base by £120m per annum. The programme required the development and control of 8 workstreams, delivering on track year 3 budgeted savings of £94m across.
• Resolved complex and often conflicting stakeholder interests, to influence business strategy and drive a step change in cross functional working and alignment of objectives.
• Drove LEAN thinking to reduce inefficiency (12% reduction in operational turnaround timings delivered), and modernise a relatively unsophisticated supply chain (including 33% manpower reduction in the ramp teams).
• Developed internal costing and benchmarking tools to support negotiations.

• Responsible for the group’s sourcing of commodities (incl. cereals, sweeteners, meat & dairy), annual spend was £300m across circa 40 sites. Previously responsible for the group’s sourcing of packaging (glass, plastics.
• Delivered £6.8m of merger synergies, through a programme of price equalisation, volume leverage & an aggressive review of key category strategies.
• Managed challenging stakeholders in a complex matrix structure during what was an unprecedented food commodity inflationary environment.
• Drove the e-procurement strategy (average 14% auction savings across circa 25% of the packaging spend delivering circa £2.7m per annum).

• Managed the group’s directs spend of £180m p.a.
• Integrated new factory locations from Gallaher’s Eastern Europe acquisition programme into group strategy, whilst delivering immediate synergies to the board.
• Conducted a radical overhaul of the group’s printed packaging supply base, with the adoption of a single source packaging strategy by site, backed by open book pricing & a strategic relationship management model (£7.5m.
