I am an Instructional Designer at Texas Wesleyan University, a private university in Fort Worth, Texas. As an Instructional Designer, I get to take my passion for teaching and education and move it up a notch. I work directly and indirectly with professors and instructors on the higher education level. I am part of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Our team develops trainings and learning experiences that focuses both on pedagogy and educational technology, and we provide these opportunities to the faculty at our university. We create courses that help our faculty take their instruction to the next level. We also work directly with our faculty to teach them how to use technology to leverage their time and efforts to allow for more effective and efficient instruction. We are also the creators and designers of the distance education experience for our campus, whether it be fully online or hybrid approaches. This opportunity allows me to take what I have learned in the classroom, on the administrative level, and through my focus on adult learning, and combine it into one.
