Hi, I'm Tim, a Master's student in the Artificial Intelligence program at Radboud University with a focus on the societal impact of AI. I think that it is crucial for all scientists to communicate their results to the general public in a clear and understandable manner, which is why I find the field of science communication so fascinating. In my job as a Writing Coach at the Radboud Writing Lab, I enjoy learning about research happening at all the different faculties at the university. Personally, I am focusing on how the fast-paced developments in AI can be communicated too broad audiences in a realistic and informed way.Next to my study, I work as a freelance videographer and filmmaker. My aim is to combine these two worlds by creating captivating documentary films that capture the fascinating work of scientists and the implications their findings can have for society. Documentaries must find a balance between being both true to the facts but not too difficult to understand, and between being entertaining but also informative. Finding this balance is a challenge I'd like to tackle both from a scientific and a filmmaking perspective.
