Currently have started working at Test Direct, having previously worked for over 5 years at the Uks leading software firm, coming from a strong customer services background previously, I became interested in testing through additional UAT work. In November 2013 I secured a place as an entry level tester and progressed quickly, gaining my ISTQB foundation and progressing through to becoming a full Test Analyst.I was working on both our existing corporation tax software's final release (training other senior testers in the software), and also working on its V1.0 replacement (due to agreements ending), which gave me the opportunity to review documents at the design stage. I also was able to use previous software's known working legislative functions to design and create scenarios that I could test on the new product, that could then be regression tested and later automated. It was a challenging project, working with 3rd party developers, as such I developed skills in detailed replication steps and examples, suggesting changes that could be made- effective communication is even more important in lieu of face to face meetings and no real hand overs. I also conducted some customer experience information, talking to business's directly about their needs. I am passionate about testing, regularly attending North West tester gatherings. Since my role was moved in-house with 3rd party developers, I have left Sage. I am currently working as a test consultant for Preston based firm Test Direct. They provide bespoke testing solutions to companies and am looking forward to furthering my career with them.
