Mentoring an eight-member team of tax and technology professionals handling all US indirect tax issues for a $28 billion organization, including but not limited to management of state and local tax controversies, oversight of third-party indirect tax compliance outsource service provider, oversight of implementation of a new sales tax engine, management of special projects (including ones unrelated to indirect tax), and serving on the organization's senior tax leadership team.

Appointed by the chair of the Virginia House Finance Committee to serve on an industry advisory working group studying the advisability of adopting the mandatory unitary combined reporting system for Virginia's corporation income tax.

Chaired the Tax Policy Committee and served as an ex-officio board member of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, advocating before the General Assembly and local governments on tax issues of importance to Virginia's business community.

Headed a team of twenty professionals responsible for issuing published tax appeal determinations and letter rulings, promulgating regulations, analyzing and preparing fiscal impact statements on all revenue legislation before the General Assembly, and advising the Virginia Executive Branch on all matters relating to tax policy. Represented the Department in all meetings of the Virginia House and Senate Finance Committees, testifying on a near daily basis while the General Assembly was in session.Mediated negotiations between Virginia local governments and the business community which led to 1996 reforms to Virginia's antiquated BPOL tax.
