I was responsible for the provision of all technology services for the CommInsure business. CommInsure is the Insurance division of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.Key components of my role included:- all aspect of technology strategy and execution- engagement with the CommInsure leadership team and Board of Directors- leadership and management of the CommInsure IT team including CBA staff and external vendors- ensuring delivery and support teams within the broader CBA IT division are meeting the needs of the CommInsure business and customers- identifying opportunities to leverage and/or build Wealth or CBA Group capabilities

I was responsible for the portfolio of 55 applications which are used by all aspects of the CommInsure business. This involved leading a team of 40 bank staff and approximately 150 vendor staff located in Sydney and India under the banks outsourcing arrangements. I was a member of the IT leadership team for CommInsure and the Executive Relationship Manager for the Wholesale and Superannuation & Investments Business Units

This role involves leading a team of project managers and project delivery professionals to deliver a portfolio of IT infrastructure and capability build projects.

This role involved leading a team of Application Development professionals as well as being the IT Account Manager for the business units within QBE Australia who service insurance intermediaries. Other roles at QBE included Head of IT Governance and Head of Application Development for Australia Asia Pacific. Key achievements include the creation of a captive development centre in the Philippines, improving project management and development processes from CMMI level 1 to CMMI level 3 and significant year on year improvements in team engagement.

Lead the Application Development team. Key achievements included building a strong leadership team and improving team efficiency, morale and quality through a managed culture change program.

Lead the teams which supported Life Insurance, eBusiness and Corporate applications. Previous to this was also the eBusiness Program Director. Key achievements included the implemenation of a technical upgrade which saved Zurich over $1m per year and the creation of the first ever Service Level Agreement between IT and the business.

Roles held at AMP included Senior Analyst Programmer, Team Leader, Project Manager and Marketing Manager. Key achievements included the implementation of a Marketing Datawarehouse and managing a project to deliver an Internet and Telephone Banking system.
