My current work is enabling hospitals and physicians across the U.S. to successfully submit electronic data to demonstrate quality, value, and performance improvement. Electronic Health Record data from over 300,000 providers and hospitals are submitted annually to meet CMS initiatives transforming healthcare through reporting on over 400 clinical quality measures.I co-lead the CMS Kaizen Certification workgroup alongside representatives from the Joint Commission, NCQA, ONC and leading healthcare IT industry partners focused on improving the EHR certification process to lower costs and improve reliability/usability of EHR clinical measures.I also manage the data validation and audit program for the Physician Quality Reporting System, focused on developing the future audit methods and process models to evaluate electronic reporting from quality registries, Accountable Care Organizations, Group Practices, and the Shared Savings Program. This validation and audit program furthers the public trust and investment of over $30 billion in incentives provided through the Meaningful Use EHR and PQRS programs.

Provided leadership and direction for 11 quality and value-based incentive programs encompassing over 130 quality measures impacting over $1.9 billion in Medicare payments annually. Ensured the successful completion of planning, development, operations, communications and implementation across multiple care settings impacting the safety and quality of care provided to millions of Medicare beneficiaries in over 4,600 hospitals, 5,000 ambulatory surgery centers, and 6,000 dialysis facilities.

Manage healthcare practice and business operations for multi-site primary care and occupational health military clinics with over 15,000 beneficiaries.Directed team performance, patient access, secure messaging and process improvement initiatives for 12 physician-led ambulatory teams that transformed to become an NCQA III certified Patient Center Medical Homes.Conducted market assessments and best in class bench-marking to improve clinical performance and field new services including tele-psych services, nutrition counseling and employee well-being programs.

Analyze and assist in Federal interagency, state, and local response for public health emergencies and preparedness activities focused on vulnerable populations. Manage Federal disaster policy and reports for the Office of the Assitant Secretary of Preparedness and Response to the HHS Secretary’s Council on Health Disparities for Minorities and the Disabled and support legislative responses for the U.S. Senate HELP Committee.

Performed cross-functional research and analysis and assisted in cutting edge research for Federal defense and health systems. Led finance and process redesign teams for TRICARE Reserve Health and Air Force education studies.

Directed executive staff and strategic planning for a two-star commanding general headquarters responsible for over $500 million in equipment and facilities, 8,000 U.S. personnel and 30,000 protected persons. Managed key engagements including 6 U.S. Congressional visits and innovative program development projects valued over $2 million.
