I founded Decision Support Group with Tom Platt to offer school districts, municipalities, state governments, and private sector partners a highly focused consulting and management partner to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. We believe in offering the real-world problem solving skills and expertise that organizations need to provide great service at an acceptable cost. Our services help organizations focus on how they can maximize their unique capabilities to address their specific problems. We support our customers with the expertise, experience, and practical problem solving that every organization needs to succeed in an uncertain world. We have a strongly held belief that our value will be measured by our ability to ensure that our clients clearly understand their current performance through detailed data analyses, fully appreciate the nature of their operational challenges and the options available to address them, understand the decisions that need to be made and the process to necessary to make those decisions, and have a clear-eyed view of the outcomes they should expect. Identifying how management and consulting firms could make a positive impact on school transportation and fleet management operations was the key responsibility as the Chief of Business Development. I was responsible for connecting the huge array of services offered by our company to the needs of the market. This included developing a deep understanding of the challenges that school transportation operations faced and developing solutions that ensured they were able to provide safe, reliable, and effective services.The value I brought to my client organizations was an ability to assess existing performance and develop strategies and operational changes to make themselves more effective or save money. I had a particular focus on assessing opportunities associated with bell time changes associated starting school later and on the implementation of performance measurement strategies for organizations. I was also intensely involved in building relationships with suppliers and partners that made our services more impactful and improved our customer operations. The acquisition, implementation, and integration of a range of technology products was a focus and was coupled with extensive efforts to, most importantly, improve the use of data to make better decisions.

As one of the founders of School Bus Consultants, I was focused on providing clients with outstanding services through a disciplined approach to assessing organizational performance. The results of these assessments led to the development of reasoned, measured, and targeted improvement strategies that increased the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of their transportation operations.
