About Tim Ander

I have over 17 years of experience working in the Avionics, Rail and Maritime fields as an avionics technician, mechanic, and engineer.Currently based in Sydney, Australia, where I am Operations Manager of CYCA.I was previously employed as an Performace Attribution Technical Specialist at Downer. I am also a qualified Yacht Engineer and worked in the Superyacht industry for 8 years.My initial training took place with the Royal New Zealand Airforce. After graduating I worked in a professional capacity as an Avionics Technician on Lockheed P3K2 Orion, Lockheed C130 Hercules and Bell UH-1 Iroquois Military Aircraft. After the Military, I moved to London where I gained experience initially working on London Underground's Victoria Line as an Electrical Modification Technician and then on the Overground train network as a Train Fitter on the Bombardier rolling stock. I also spent a few months working in Berlin as a mechanic for Steel Vintage Bikes restoring racing and road bikes from the 1970's-1990's before moving to Palma De Mallorca to get into the maritime industry.I have always had a passion for yachts and sailing, with extensive working experience with Caterpillar and MTU engines, Servogear and ZF gearboxs, Northern Lights and Kohler generator sets, PLC controlled hydraulic systems, HEM reverse osmosis desalination systems, Hamann sewage treatment systems, B&G navigation equipment, internet, AV and IT, 3D printing and CAD design. I have a positive attitude, an attention to detail, and enjoy working autonomously or within a team.
