I directed the economic development effort and represented the interests of member businesses in Elizabethtown KY. Working with a staff of two, a host of volunteers and a board of 21, that included businesses owners, representatives and government leaders, the Chamber managed community events such as the KY Heartland Festival, Job Fairs, citizen recruitment efforts, New business development, educational programs, Networking Events, Legislative efforts and sponsored various community awards. The Chamber served as a driving force in the Elizabethtown Metropolitan Statical area and the region.

I worked with an employee, an array of volunteers and a board of director’s to promote, improve, direct and foster the development and revitalization of downtown Elizabethtown. This was accomplished through building renovation projects, Grant administration, the development of educational and historic programs and the planning and development of community events.

I worked with a team of seven safety professionals and with corporate and site management in an effort to reduce to the greatest degree possible, loss of worker hours due to injury, company property as a result of accident, theft or vandalism and to assure that no citizen suffered as a result of business conducted at the plant. The team conducted all safety education sessions for the employees, developed appropriate regulations satisfying OSHA and other pertinent safety regulations, and conducted safety, oversight and enforcement inspections routinely.

I worked with various staff members, government officials and the Hardin Co. Planning Commission to develop and maintain the most efficient and cost effective use of land for the area under the direct authority of the Hardin County Fiscal Court. During my employment, the commission evaluated and determined land use policies, worked with private citizens fulfill development standards for commercial and residential development and directed the development of a $12 million county landfill.

I worked the two building inspectors, the City Engineer, city personnel, elected officials and private citizens to direct and maintain the most cost efficient and reasonable commercial and residential development for the city council of the city of Radcliff, KY. The department reviewed and enforced construction standards, city ordinances, the delivery of utilities and coordination with other organizations having jurisdiction and authority.
