Timothy Rayer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Penn State University in 1994 before going on to complete his graduate work in Prosthetics at Newington Children’s Hospital and the University of Connecticut Medical School. Rayer specializes in the design and fit of complex polytrauma patients including Transfemoral (AK), Hemipelvectomy, Hip disarticulation and Running prosthetics. Rayer currently leads Prosthetic Innovations, LLC’ beta testing of OSSUR’s, yet-to-be-released, Transfemoral Seal-In V Liner as well as the Unity Vacuum Foot. Past beta tests that Rayer has led included the new POWER KNEE, Flex-Run redesign, as well as OSSUR’s entire Seal-In Liner product line. Rayer serves a leadership role inProsthetic Innovations, LLC’ participation in the NIH-funded PLUS Study. Rayer serves as a clinical consultant for OSSUR, teaching the proper application of advanced devices to prosthetists, physicians and students throughout North America. Rayer’s product training includes the new POWER KNEE, Symbionic Leg, Proprio Ankle, Rheo Knee and the entire Seal-In product line.
