I graduated from the University of St Andrews as an MMath (Hons) with degree classification 2:1. I love a good challenge and want to be able to work in a environment where I can make a difference, using my problem-solving abilities. I'm open to working in different locations. I work very hard, and I always try to go beyond what is expected of me. I'm great at thinking creatively, so I would be well-suited any job that requires coming up with ideas. I love programming; I'm fluent in Python, and have been using it recently to solve problems in the Project Euler website, which specialises in difficult programming challenges. I also enjoy software testing, and have some experience of doing both manual and automated testing in summer jobs whilst I was doing my degree.During the pandemic I've been giving private maths tuition to both children and adults at different levels. This has been a great challenge as I've learned how to engage with my students and adapt my teaching to their strengths and weaknesses, thinking up new ways of explaining concepts in order to help them understand. I've taken many positions of responsibility at university, most notably President of the Maths society, during which I managed to bring the society from the brink of collapse to a flourishing, self-sustaining entity. I'm incredibly tenacious - if I am responsible for something, I will do everything I can to avoid failure, beyond where most people would give up.
