I transitioned to the role of CTO after the acquisition of OpenMethods by VCSR, Inc. (now OpenMethods, Inc.) in October of 2010. As CTO, I was responsible for acting as the primary sales engineer and product evangelist, documenting and implementing professional services and development processes - to make them more scalable and repeatable, and leading an internal initiative to move the OpenMethods’ operations, lab, and IT/backoffice infrastructure from a hosted data center, premise equipment, and premise software packages to set of solutions that were 100% cloud and SaaS based. I managed the budget and vendor relationships for the build-out and expansion of our operatons to a new facilities in Kansas. This included negotiating with city and state agencies to secure over $300,000 in state incentives for the $670,000 expansion project. On a daily basis, I managed three teams; professional services, software development, and support, with 3 direct reports. I have P&L responsibility and accountability for these groups. I am also responsible for all product management and product marketing initiatives. Being a small company, I serve as the primary sales engineer and product evangelist. I assist with sale pursuits, answering RFP’s, deliver on sales related customer and partner requests, and speak at industry events. I founded OpenMethods in December of 2003, with one other co-founder and 2 employees. Since 2003, we grew the business from initial start-up with zero revenue to a valuable enterprise with healthy annual recurring revenues, a growing top line in the millions, and a team of 24 employees and contractors. OpenMethods achieved profitability in 5 of its 7 years of operation. OpenMethods exited in October 2010, via acquisition by a private investorThe accomplishments at OpenMethods, that occured while I was CEO and that I most proud of, include: OpenMethods being named by the Kansas City Small Business Monthly, in 2010, as one of the “Top 25 Companies Under 25 Employees” in the KC Metropolitan Area.OpenMethods was selected by a judged panel to present at the "Invest Midwest Venture Capital Forum" in 2006, 2007 and 2009.Starting from zero, we grew a contact center professional services practice and voice application server business to profitability and over $1M in annual revenue in 36 months, with a CAGR of over 75%.I secured an OEM relationship with RightNow Technologies to develop and jointly resell a “productized” integration between RightNow’s agent desktop and Genesys' Universal Queue Solution. I had the unique opportunity to serve as the primary product manager and product marketing resource for two new products that we developed and introduced to the contact center market, OpenVXML, and the OpenMethods’ RightNow Adapter for Genesys.Our professional services business received many accolades from customers and partners, and our client list included projects and customers in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, as well as the US, Mexico and Canada.

Technical lead for a CTI/CRM project at the U.S. Postal Service's Central Management Facility. This project involved the integration of Genesys and Geotel (Cisco ICM) CTI software with a Remedy CRM Application and the development of a software telephone to be used by CSR’s. Responsible for capturing user and system requirements, creating the integrated design and building the IVR application using Periphonics/Nortel Open IVR.Migrated Sprint’s internal help desk call center IVR from an OS2 based solution (InterVoice I-Form) to a Windows NT based IVR (InterVoice InVision). Developed IVR applications and test tools using the InterVoice “InVision” scripting tool and Visual C++.
