As a Market Strategist Tim has been the primary point of contact for a selection of Medley’s clients, many of whom are traders at Global Macro Hedge Funds and Investment Banks (typically proprietary), but also include asset managers focused on Commodities, Emerging Markets and a wide array of other areas working for Mutual Funds, Pension funds etc. Tim’s role has been to inform these traders, assets managers and investors about Macro Policy and its relationship with various markets. He specializes in political and monetary policy. He covers most of the major central banks including the Fed, ECB, BoJ, PBoC, BoC and the RBA. Tim is deeply engrained in US and European politics, and has helped his firm and clients understand how the market is currently reacting to various policy debates as they take shape and how those markets may react to future changes in policy. Like many of his clients, Tim focuses on a wide array of markets including various money markets (those most closely linked to monetary policy), foreign exchange, major global equities (from a broad index standpoint), sovereign debt, and various derivatives linked to the above markets. Tim’s approach to the strategist role is to bring a unique blend of academic and market experience – which he continues to build on in parallel.
