I'm passionate about delivering solutions (technology or otherwise) that solve real business problems. I'm pragmatic in my design philosophy and believe that simple, elegant solutions beat 'clever' solutions every time. I'm convinced that quality and speed are not necessarily contradictory. I firmly believe that 'how' you deliver solutions or lead teams is as important as what you deliver. Personnel character and integrity is paramount and treating people well tends to deliver better results than command/control.I enjoy leading teams through challenging situations and building effective teams where everybody understands the 'big picture' and that they contribute to goals greater than their personal goals.As far as work history goes, I have a diverse background in all facets of I/T. I've managed large teams. I've managed projects, learned business process by immersing with business SME's, gathered requirements and designed applications to solve real business problems. I come from a software development background so i understand software development. For the applications I've designed, I also designed the data model and integrations. I've led change management, SOX compliance, data analysis and quality assurance. I've designed SDLC processes.A couple career highlights would be ... Taking a team who had been declared 'dysfunctional' by upper management and leading that team into one that upper management trusted and counted on. The other would be moving our enterprise from a mainframe environment to a client-server environment. This involved establishing the companies IT department from a blank slate and involved all IT strategy/ direction. It also entailed designing, developing, and delivering new applications to run our business. I learned much from our business SME's. I also learned how to lead people and projects and implement processes that enabled our I/T team to be an effective section that added much value to the enterprise.
