My first role at Kiva was the design and documentation of the operator workstations and pods. The majority of my work was done using SolidWorks to design the various mechanical components from cardboard storage bins to large steel weldments to sheet metal stampings. Proteus Design was design consultancy that provided engineering, industrial design and graphic design services to the makers of consumer products. I was responsible for generating mechanical solutions to the challenges presented to us by our clients. The challenges varied from widely from project to project in scope and complexity. As an intern in the Large Truck Group I worked under the supervision of staff engineers to create and modify parts and drawings in CAD. Participated in design brainstorms to simplify assembly and improve quality of several existing products.

As an intern in the Utilities Maintenance Group assisted in determining and acquired the necessary parts for maintenance work and arranging job-site preparation. Created simple installation layouts for pumps, motors ands valves, and designed a dust suppression system for the coal delivery conveyor system.
