Lead the development, implementation and administration of the Capital Projects portfolio management function. Responsible for designing and implementing a portfolio management strategy and governance framework for capital projects.

Continued in the same role that I started in October of 2013, taking on the additional responsibility to manage the capital and maintenance projects at Cameco's McArthur River mine as well as the Key Lake mill sites.

• As a member of the senior management team at the McArthur River Mine, responsible to provide the capital infrastructure required to execute the Life of Mine plan.• Interface closely with Major Projects Division to execute large capital projects: Power Substation ($198M approved, $169M completed) and Freeze Plant ($90M approved, $71M completed).• Manage team of project managers at site to execute ongoing Sustaining projects.• Typical total annual capital project budget of $30M to $90M.• Ensure project scopes defined provide fit-for-purpose functionality only• Extensive work to change project execution from silos at each site to full integration between the sites and the centralized Major Projects Division.• Work closely with Supply Chain and company senior management to manage share of project work for each of Cameco’s northern community companies (Preferred Northern Contractors)• Key member of internal team that developed a Small Project Delivery Procedure, to allow smaller projects to be completed cost effectively, while following project management fundamentals

Successfully completed transition to mining industry, following over 25 years of experience in the satellite industry, covering a wide variety of roles and increasing responsibility. Applied extensive experience in program management / project engineering to the mining industry, for this global leader in Uranium mining. Responsible for all aspects of engineering, as well as interface to mining site personnel and construction contractors for large mining projects.

Responsible for product specs and definition, as well as managing new developments for a number of SED products, including Decimator L-band Spectrum Analyzer card, Startcast DVB-S2 Satellite Modulator, Mon-A-Co Equipment Monitor and Control System and Carrier Monitoring Systems. Also responsible for production of these units and marketing and sales responsibilities.

Managed development, production and installation on technically challenging, multiple complex international projects involving the design, build, testing and refinement of large custom hardware / software installations. System installations across sites in 5 different countries. Managed engineering / production / manufacturing teams of Software Developers, Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Assemblers and Technologists to complete projects and product developments on time and on budget.

Led the technical team on several international network installation projects involving hardware and software systems for international satellite service providers and satellite operators. Major projects include a Mobility Management System for Inmarsat of the UK, with installations in Norway, Japan and the UK, as well as an Uplink Authorization System for XM Satellite Radio in Washington, D.C.

Primarily provided engineering support for a key process (jacketing) in a fiber optic manufacturing facility.

Detailed hardware design at the circuit board level of various electronic boards for deliverable units. Supported the manufacturing group as these units made their way through production. Initial experience with Project Management of large systems projects.
