Starting at Arup as a BIM Manager, I built and now lead and manage a small team in the Bristol office. Alongside this as part of the senior leadership I have been leading and developing a Global data standard, initially within Revit. This is a multi-million-pound project with truly innovative ways of thinking, and delivering a consistent Revit standard, which is pushing the boundaries and paving the way for a data centric business.

Responsible for the BIM output from the M&E group within the Bristol office. I mentor, train and manage a team of Technicians who serve a medium sized office. My role is one of managing expectations be that from clients and stakeholders or end users and engineers. Training is a large part of the role and I regularly hold formal and informal training for anything relating to Building Information Modelling , be that software related, using Revit, Navisworks or Solibri or processes and standards implementations. I regularly need to comment or author BIM Execution Plans. Or aid in the guidance of clients who may not necessarily be aware of the value that BIM and the data which it contains can bring to their project.

Alongside my existing role and as part of the digital development team, I led the MEP team across the UKIMEA. Identifying and developing several innovative tools, workflows and scripts for use across the business. This included the development of parametric design tools using the information from within the design models for faster optioneering.

Responsible for the day to day running of all projects where BIM has been implemented. Over the past year I have been creating and maintaining all the BIM standards and revit content which has been deployed across the business. My main role at present is to implement revit and BIM throughout the company. I am responsible for resourcing all the CAD and BIM requirements for all Bristol led projects and where appropriate employ contract or permanent staff as I see fit. Training staff is a large part of the role be that for BIM awareness training or delivering Revit training tailored to our own practices and procedures.

In my position as CAD /BIM Coordinator I have been the main CAD support for the Bristol office. My largest task however has been implementing BIM within Silcock Dawson. This has involved creating a customised Revit template as well as bespoke family creation to parallel with the company CAD standards.Through creating a BIM implementation plan I aim to improve the uptake of BIM and Revit, and instill a new culture within the company.BIM awareness is a key part of the role along with training which will be introduced over the coming months.

M&E CAD Technician, over the course of the last 2 years of my tenure I was also performing the role of a CAD Manager – introducing and implementing many time / money saving ideas. I am an experienced Building Services CAD Technician and previous to WYG I have worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff & Buro Happold within M&E CAD teams. I like to make the CAD environment as simple as possible for any engineers who are required to produce drawings. I believe that through standardisation, automated processes can be introduced. Automated processes can save many hours over the course of a year. I have introduced many within my current CAD department; this has saved many hours over the course of the past 4 years.

Responsible for the production of M&E services drawings. Adhering to the company CAD standards and enforcing these standards throughout the company. Supporting engineers in CAD related tasks including issuing of information and document control.
