Having worked with the production of secure documentation all my career, in 2011, I founded Secure and Confidential Documents to provide outsourced examination services to small and medium sized organisations whose members take examinations. SCD has grown over the last decade and now provides a full end-to-end solution, from online testing, on screen marking through to printed exam papers and printed and e-certificates. The business is built on providing tailored solutions - I know that it’s not enough to simply sell a product, sit back and hope the customer can figure out how it will work best for them, which is why I always understand how our products and services are going to be used in practice before recommending a particular route.With a printed product, for example, how will the content be created and supplied; who will ultimately handle and use the product; how will it get there; what timescales and turnaround times are involved; what are the volumes and how frequently will it be required; what budget is available; what infrastructure is already in place that has to be kept?Crafting a solution and potential options can then be put forward to the customer for discussion and consideration. I’m a stickler for detail and in our sector the devil lies in the detail.When it comes to implementation, our customers play a central role, providing specialist knowledge to make sure the solution is working properly. Ensuring our customers are happy with the pace of implementation also involves helping them to transition to new ways of working. We nurture their team and help them to get the best out of their customised solution.
