Reporting directly to the CEO (Paris) & COO (London) to define the product vision, set strategy, execute roadmap and build-out. My key deliverable was the development and launch of the Credit Index Options Exercise platform (EEP). An innovative service that sought to automate the monthly exercise of Cleared Index Options; bringing automation, efficiency and anonymity to a manually intensive, time sensitive process.I strengthened relationships with the ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association), gaining appointment to key committees and providing thought leadership that influenced broader industry practices. Through establishing a strategic parentship with Bloomberg to utilise LCH CDSCLear analytics, I increased LCH brand visibility and opened-up new revenue potential.

My remit was to build out the business, operational and technical architecture to support the OTC Client Clearing function’s CDS and FX offering. I successfully led the end-to-end product development programmes that expanded services through onboarding LCH for FX forwards and integrated new Credit Default Swap asset class with ICE Clear Europe, securing multiple new high-value ROI mandates from new and existing clients.In addition to my core responsibilities I obtained full membership of ICE Clear Credit (CDS), enabling trade processing to be simplified and cleared directly in the US, increasing capital efficacy and reducing operational risks for HSBC and its clients. Furthermore through translating ESMA, MiFID II, FinFrag and HKMA regulatory reporting requirements I championed the development of a suite of reporting solutions, including the delivery of complicated three-way delegated reporting.

I owned the global product strategy and roadmap for two core Markit products: Markit RED – the reference entity data underpinning the global credit default swaps market and MarkitSERV Credit - an end-to-end OTC derivates trade processing and workflow solution.Through building active networks and trusted client relationships, I identified opportunities and captured requirements to evolve product functionality and launch innovative new products, delivering double-digit growth in revenues and clients.

I gained promotion to the Derivatives Business Control Group in February 2000. The group provided front office advisory and business management services to the Credit Structuring and Trading businesses. In 2002, I was handpicked to move to the USA and establish the Derivatives Business Controls Group in the region. I trained and developed the Asia-Pacific team both remotely and on the ground in Hong Kong. Working collaboratively with Credit Trading and Structuring teams, we built out systems, processes, risk governance and control frameworks across Fixed Income financial instruments to effectively manage exposures.Through addressing core issues with trade confirmation and settlement process via integration of DTCC and automated CDS transaction processing, I was able to minimise risk and operational costs, and facilitate a double-digit increase in profitability. I also created an aggregated risk-reporting framework that enabled executive leadership to have full visibility of credit exposure and make informed data-driven decisions.

After leaving University, I joined one of the leading investment banks within a business analysis and project management function.Major programmes included:• Strategic Fixed Income (FI) integration programme brought about by the merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation. I collaborated across Trading, IT, Operations, Legal, and Audit and assured migration of all fixed income positions to a new global IT architecture.• Assured continuity of trading and risk management during the transition to the Euro currency; ensuring the remediation of all key FI desk applications.• Eliminated significant business and operational risk by ensuring Y2K compliance for Loan and Deposit trading system. This brought the further benefits of reduced support costs and facilitated the delivery of a Straight Through Processing (STP) solution for global banking products.
