My responsibilities were IT Programme Management, stakeholder requirements analysis and leadership of the Professional Services team including day to day management. • Engaged with the IT user community to identify areas in need of improvement. I then used this information during the tender processes. • Delivered a £2 million IT programme of work including simultaneous 10 site-wide area network upgrade, replacement firewalls and internet connections. Stability and speed and the IT user experience were greatly improved. • Unified staff and learner Wi-Fi access by implementing a 9-campus solution including guest and authenticated user access. • Standardised the provision of the print service by managing the specification, tender and implementation of a 10-campus managed print service. Secure smartcard access was implemented. Maintenance and consumable costs were dramatically reduced, device functionality and availability significantly enhanced. • Implemented Virtual Desktop technology which resulted in reduced IT management overhead and improved on campus and remote user access. • Worked closely with the Infrastructure, Change Management, Governance and Service Desk teams to ensure problem free new solution transitions to the live production environments.• Managed third party suppliers, conducted performance reviews, and introduced corrective measures where required.

An Ombudsman service focused upon impartially managing complaints against members of the legal profession with an operating budget of £20 million and 350 staff.Recruited prior to the organisations launch I was responsible for implementing and further developing the IT and Telecoms solutions. I recruited, developed and performance-managed an internal IT and Telecoms team of 10 staff comprising of project and service delivery teams. I held MOJ SC clearance. • Following consultation with senior stakeholders I developed a 3-year IT strategy that provided a technical roadmap and defined decision points for future IT and Telecoms developments. • Captured and defined network, storage, server, desktop, telephony, and disaster recovery requirements and successfully led the concurrent £5 million implementation. The resulting solution utilised outsourced high availability data centres, storage and call centre telephony. • Negotiated an annual £1 million outsourced SLA in line with stakeholder requirements and cyclical retender process.• Successfully completed Agile software development projects including enhancements to the case management and SharePoint solutions resulting in greater organisational alignment. • Developed and implemented full integration between the off-site outsourced scanning and printing companies resulting in automated data transfers directly into the SharePoint, case management and voice recording solutions.• Imported historic data into the case management system from an organisation that had been replaced by the Legal Ombudsman. • Implemented a mobile working solution allowing remote access to data and telephony systems which provided increased work force flexibility and disaster recovery capability. • Led MOJ information assurance and related security penetration testing projects.• Managed budgets to the value of £5 million.

A registered social landlord owning 6,000 properties, employing 200 staff with an annual turnover of £20 million. I joined the organisation prior to it opening its doors to the public.Recruited and developed the ICT department consisting of support and development staff. I led an organisational-wide change programme to terminate the initial outsourced contract and insource the hosting of the IT infrastructure and solutions. • After liaising and communicating with key stakeholders, I defined the ICT strategy and secured board approval for £1.6 million of investment. • I implemented a portfolio of interrelated infrastructure and software projects. Technologies used included a data centre, cloud solutions, Windows servers and clients and Nortel call centre telephony. The result being that the organisation gained full control of its own technology and became more responsive. • Merged and imported historic data from the legacy Manchester City Council (MCC) housing system into the Trusts new Capita solution. • Developed and implemented integration between the housing, asset management and finance solutions. This included introducing data feeds from external organisations such as MCC to ensure the Trusts solutions were up to date. • Established and managed SLA’s. Proactive monitoring resulted in enhanced customer service levels and a £60,000 annual cost reduction. • Managed capital and departmental budgets of £2.2 million per annum.
