Engineering Manager / Integrated Project Team Lead in the Fluid Pressure systems area. Primary responsibility was leading the Engineering and Qualification activities for a composite solution for the Airbus A350XWB fuel and inerting system (US$1bn lifetime revenue). This included coordinating and leading a large number of qualification packages and activities with direct reporting to senior internal and external program and engineering teams. During the project I authored or approved more than 1000 technical documents to Airbus and the Tier 1 supplier, all of which had to be accepted by Airbus in order to clear the parts for flight.I took the product from initial concepts and patent applications through to full-scale production using an interim production facility before moving into a purpose built new factory. I established and grew the team involved from two, to more than sixty people over this time, across a number of functional areas, all of which I was responsible for from a product safety and technical point of view. While managing this diverse team I had line management responsibility for a number of engineers of different experience and skill level, I was responsible for all core management duties of these team members including career planning and development. This was alongside managing the workloads of a larger number of engineers who did not report to me but were working on my project.
