I was the Group Chief Financial Officer of Crowe Horwath Australasia, an ASX listed professional services company providing business and financial advisory services. I was responsible for the strategic direction and management of the group finance function, management of the group’s treasury function, budgeting and forecasting, acquisition and divestment activity, financial and tax risk management and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Crowe Horwath is the fifth largest accounting services group in Australasia with revenue of $400 million, over 100 offices and approximately 2,600 people. Traffic Technologies Limited is an ASX listed company. The business was built through the acquisition of traffic management businesses to provide an integrated service offering encompassing traffic management, traffic signs, traffic lights and a technology division. The business had a turnover of approximately $100 million.I was responsible for the financial reporting requirements of the group and management of the external audit process. Additional responsibilities included enhancing the internal controls and risk reporting frameworks and involvement in the business acquisition and due diligence process.

I joined Deloitte as part of its acquisition of the BDO Melbourne firm. Deloitte provided exposure to its’ broader network of over 6,000 people and 570 partners in Australia and its focus on innovation. During my time at Deloitte I worked with a diverse range of audit and assurance clients and on litigation support engagements.

I joined the London office of BDO Stoy Hayward as an auditor in 1997. During my time in London I worked on audit and assurance engagements with a range of clients from entrepreneurial start-up ventures to key multi-national groups.

I worked in small policy division responsible for the development and implementation of a high profile government policy to invest £450 million in deprived public sector housing estates in England and Wales. I had special responsibility for analysis and assessment of the financial models used to support applications.
