Established in 1984 as the first public school foundation in the state of Missouri, the Special Education Foundation provides support and assistance to students who receive services from the Special School District of Saint Louis County (SSD).More than 16 percent of students in St. Louis County receive special education services with the Foundation serving 20,000 students annually through its programs.

These services reach 600,000 persons each month in the 24th ranked radio market in the country operating with an annual budget of $8.5M with 65 total FTE and content unit of 34 FTE.- Tripled the assets during tenure from $3.8M to $12M - More than doubled the philanthropic support for STLPR from $3.4M to $8.2M- Currently in the quiet phase of a $15M campaign for endowment, capital, and content expansion. Early commitments to the campaign included gifts of $3M and $1.6M- Completed acquisition of the St. Louis Beacon (the first ever between a public radio operation and an online non-profit local news service) that doubled the news operation at St. Louis Public Radio that included a $3M capacity-building fundraising campaign in 2013- Lead the fundraising effort and successfully completed the construction of a new headquarters of St. Louis Public Radio with UMSL at Grand Center in 2012, a $10M, 27,000 square foot broadcast and academic facility located in the Arts and Entertainment district in St. Louis- Successfully acquired WQUB-FM in Quincy, IL in 2012 and KMST-FM in Rolla, MO in 2017 for St. Louis Public Radio retaining the public radio service in those communities- Recognized as one of the Most Influential St. Louisans in the St. Louis Business Journal
