As a result, I led a £32M winter resilience contingency programme to prepare and ensure the continuous aircraft operations at London Heathrow Airport during winter. I successfully rewrote, reformatted and instigated the airport snow plan within an extremely short period to facilitate efficient snow operations. In preparation for winter operations, I ensured the provision, integration and training of airside personnel and the introduction of a new snow vehicle fleet. My efforts and team led to Heathrow Airports best reaction to snow in a decade, ensuring the airport stayed open during the winter 2011/12. From the lessons identified that season, I fully prepared the strategy, plans, training and resources for winter 2012/13.
