I'm working in the core Solaris Kernel group at Sun, concentrating on virtualization, where we continue to integrate the Xen hypervisor into OpenSolaris (xVM was the internal name of that effort)I was originally brought on board to help with build and tools work, but have since worked on features to improve the ease-of-use of virtualization technologies on.

* Test development for ZFS – working with the ZFS test team to design and implement functional and stress tests, liaising with the product development team and other test groups within Sun.* Wrote improvements to the ZFS testing framework to allow for more automation of testing. Investigated ZFS test suite coverage, using DTrace scripts and source code.

I worked in the Sun Globalisation group as part of a team writing tools to make the translation of software and computer documentation easier and more cost effective.These were implemented in Java, (using J2EE on the server side) as well as JavaCC and client-side Java. Ultimately, I was able to open source this work, which can now been seen as part of the.

Localisation engineer working on a range of Sun products, including Solaris, Java and Netra product lines. Implemented desktop print support for non-ISO-8859-1 European locales, and did some internationalisation work for the software controlling a particular hardware device.
