I design, direct and make animation for TV and games. I help with both the technical and artistic challenges of creating high quality, financially successful and award-winning content.My project history includes Peppa Pig, Hey Duggee!, Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, Moshi Monsters, and Teach Your Monster Games. I have worked on TV series, web sites, mobile games, educational and software projects.

We made Pixelgrams: Pixel Puzzles and after an App Sore 'Best of' feature and about 350K downloads later we're still making it with pixel art and Unity3D!

I set up the Celaction pipeline for an animated pilot TV episode. I converted character, prop and background artwork into fully rigged actors ready for animation. I managed the workflow for the episode director and remote animators, and I animated my own shots. I was Animation Director on "Hopscotch and the Christmas Tree", a 24 minute short animated film for pre-school children, made with Celaction2D. It was a Lithuanian / Irish / Finnish co-production that was broadcast at Christmas 2018. My task was to help the animators develop a consistent animation style and method across all scenes in the film. I spent time in Vilnius, Lithuania at the start of the production to help set up the small animation studio and to guide the animators with their work. For the rest of the production I worked remotely from a Brighton studio where I directed and coordinated the animators via Slack and Skype. I also managed to animate a few shots myself! Throughout the project I worked closely with the film's producers, director and layout artist to ensure that the production achieved it's deadlines. The result of everyone's hard work is a really sweet little film with a charming picture-book quality. I loved working on this project, it was very challenging at times but the entire team were an absolute pleasure to work with.

I'm designed and digitally painted lots of art assets for CBeebies pre-school TV show.

I designed episodes for the excellent 'Hey Duggee!' Season 2. Almost a 100% Adobe Flash workflow.

I was responsible for the look and feel of individual episodes of this award winning pre-school animated series, handling the design process from concept drawings through to the artwork being made ready for animation in Flash. Working closely with the series Director, I designed characters, props and backgrounds and also created the layouts for each scene of the episode.

I was employed by the makers of Moshi Monsters to animate their in-game characters called ‘Moshlings’. I built, rigged and animated over 60 different characters.

I created a pixel-perfect platform game concept for mobile devices, and worked with a small team to produce it in our spare time. In January 2014 we released ‘Foxtrot!’ on iOS and Android, and it was featured in the App Store’s Best New Games category. I created all the art assets and animation for the game in Flash, Photoshop and Pixel Edit. Prior to release I made the trailer in After Effects and Premiere and wrote all the marketing and press release information.

2D Flash animation for a set of short trailers for Tee and Mo, a new pre-school TV series.

I designed artwork for 26 episodes of this popular children’s series. Working closely with the series directors, I created artwork from concept sketch through to production ready assets made ready for animation. My main tools were Illustrator and Celaction.

During this time I worked on numerous small projects as an animator and a designer.Clients included the BBC, Hasbro, Red Funnel Ferries and the Great North Museum.

I created animated, illustrative and video content for secondary school children. I produced hundreds of assets using a combination of Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere.

Mainly using Flash, Photoshop and After Effects I worked on a wide range of short projects for clients such as Puffin books, Hasbro and the BBC where I designed and animated infographic style inserts for the ‘James May’s Big Idea’ series.I also made a short film called ‘When a Hen Eats a Bee’ which won the Depict! Special Mention Award in 2010.

I was a designer on Peppa Pig using Illustrator and Photoshop and Celaction. I would create artwork for characters, props and backgrounds and make them ready for animation. During this time I was also a pre-production and concept designer for ‘Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom’.

I created layout set-ups and special effects in Celaction for each episode of this animated TV series and managed a team of layout artists.

I was a character animator on the first series of Peppa Pig, where I used Celaction. I animated on 26 of the 52 5 minute episodes. It was my very first job for TV, and I was lucky that it was such a great one.

DART Maths was at the time a ground-breaking interactive e-learning project. I designed and made hundreds of animated maths problems in Flash.

I was an Interactive designer on museum and gallery projects, where I produced graphic design, typography and animation across a broad range of science and arts based projects. My main tools were Photoshop, Flash and After Effects.
