Tim made amazing contributions to the Andover-Harvard Theological Library, especially during a website refresh project. Tim created an eye-tracking study to assess how students interacted with our old homepage. He also designed and led a focus group on library website nomenclature, information architecture, and content. Tim translated his findings into actionable recommendations, and we implemented all of them. He also worked with our web developers to update Google Analytics to collect search metrics for ongoing assessment. Tim’s work resulted in a more usable website that prioritizes what students need and expect. Tim is an excellent communicator and skilled presenter. While at Harvard, he presented on his user research in several public settings. Tim did a lightening talk on his user at an event sponsored by the User Research Center at Harvard Library for library colleagues. He presented at the American Theological Library Association 2017 conference and conducted a related webinar. Tim’s excellent work and reputation led the User Research Center at Harvard Library to hire Tim when the Head of UX was away on leave. In addition to working on our website, Tim conducted a study on student use of library space. He curated VR experiences and created opportunities for students to experience VR in the library. Tim also updated LibGuides to meet Harvard Library best practice guidelines, created new web content, and made an historic collection of pamphlets more discoverable by improving catalog metadata.
