My work experience includes everything from the structural design of steel, reinforced concrete, tilt panel, cmu block, wood, cold form metal framing and other various materials. I work in the 4 phases of the architectural design process. The schematic design, design development, construction documents and the construction administration phases. I design schools, shopping centers, churches, banks, medical office buildings, homes; as well as renovate such structures as schools, churches, shopping centers and many other types of structures. As well as design, I also am involved in project management and the construction administration phase of the projects. Which means I take care of shop drawings, RFI’s, as well as site visits and questions from the contractors and architects.My engineering design background over the past 14+ years as well as working with contractors in the construction administration phase, has given me a deep understanding of the construction of all types of buildings. Whether it is steel and the constructability all the way from the foundations to finishing off the building. I have dealt with resolving issues that the contractor throws my way and I need to come up with a resolution and get back to him as soon as possible. This has taught me so much about the construction phase and how design and constructability are so deeply related.
