WeFarmShop. My most exciting project to date as it brings together many of my experiences into a space that is crying out for a high quality solution. We all want to support small batch/ local farmers and producers, as we love their passion, their stories and the quality produce they make - but the kicker is that it needs to be made easy. That means a great App, and workable solutions for customer convenience, value, delivery cost, and packaging.It’s going to be exciting, challenging and fascinating - and, in May 2023, the journey is about to begin.My entrepreneurial journey started after I qualified as an accountant at KPMG - I soon figured out that I wasn’t wired for the corporate world.A chance conversation with my brother Andrew in 1995 resulted in us founding Haggards Brewery, including The Imperial, King’s Road and The Bad Jelly Company. During my time at Haggards Crowther, I supported hundreds of small business, in many cases acting in an informal FD role. My Bookkeeping Online was a simple, pragmatic online bookkeeping solution. We were early adopters of downloading bank statements for use in a bookkeeping environment. I learnt valuable lessons about the complexities of developing websites and software as a service, although we ultimately got beaten to the punch by Xero!

We developed a range of six flavours, designed bespoke, patented packaging, and raised seed capital to turbo-boost sales. Over the life-cycle we sold more than 5 million units in the UK and to a handful of bars in ski resorts.

My brother and I founded craft brewery Haggards Brewery in 1996. In addition to raising of seed capital from Angel Investors, I was responsible the development and launch of a craft brewery. Despite being before its time, the brewery traded successfully for over 10 years in a tight London market and launched two award winning ales.

From Associate To Manager
Joined in September 1988, and qualified with first time passes. In June 1992, I was seconded to the Serious Fraud Office to work on the Maxwell enquiry. In 1993, I spent a year in Kuwait, advising businesses on making claims made to the UN for losses incurred in the first invasion for Kuwait. On returning to London, I spent time in the Fraud Investigation Unit and with KPMG Corporate Finance before leaving for entrepreneur-land.
