As Board President, I was responsible for overseeing the OMA board of directors and paid staff, supporting our mission, ensuring efficient implementation of policies and procedures, developing and growing state-wide programs, and moving forward the goals of our strategic plan. OMA's mission is to provide professional development and networking opportunities to build the capacity of Oregon's museums. Offering learning opportunities through regional workshops, an annual conference, newsletters and web-based communications, the OMA helps to foster and connect industry professionals with practical resources to support the success of all Oregon museums.

As Interim Senior Manager - Exhibits, Programs, and Collections at Pittock Mansion, I oversaw the development, coordination, and administration of the organization’s exhibits, programs, and collection management activities to support the operational and strategic goals of the organization.In this position, I worked collaboratively with the Executive Director and other key staff to strategically plan for the near term and support the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic.

In my position as Federal Grants Manager, I led the coordination and development of proposals from $150,000 to $3,000,000 for foundations and federal agencies such as the National Science Foundation, Institute for Museum and Library Services, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration to support a wide variety of strategic initiatives ranging from property development, exhibition and program design, staff professional development, to large-scale art installations. Along with having led proposal development for OMSI, I also supported partner museum institutions around the country to collaborate on the conceptual development of partner-led projects and proposals.

As a Project Manager & Community Engagement Specialist at OMSI, I oversaw the day-to-day development of large-scale exhibit and program projects created in partnership with community-based organizations and with funding provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Responsibilities ranged from initiating and sustaining mutually beneficial, long-term community relationships; organizing and facilitating meetings; maintaining timelines; managing internal project teams and external contractors; and overseeing complex, multi-year budgets ranging from $20,000 to $400,000.

As an Exhibit & Program Developer at OMSI, I led the development of new programs and exhibits on a variety of subjects like Nanotechnology, the integration of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in Science Centers, Synthetic Biology, and Citizen Science. As a major part of my position, I also served as the regional communication lead (Hub Leader) for the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net) funded by the National Science Foundation. Outside of OMSI, I served as the Membership Chair for the AAM DIVCOM Professional Network and facilitator for the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) Advocates for Diversity Community of Practice (CoP).

As an Outreach & Museum Educator at OMSI, I developed and delivered education programs and assemblies for OMSI and pre-k - 8th grade schools, children’s hospital and community organizations throughout Portland and greater Pacific Northwest. Additional responsibilities included recruiting and managing volunteers, facilitating organizational partnerships, and promoting sales, registration, and marketing of outreach programs.

As Co-chair of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) DIVCOM Professional Network, I worked with DIVCOM chairs and AAM leadership to connect AAM members to other museum professionals and best practice resources on advancing diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion throughout the broader museum community. The vision of the Diversity Professional Network (DivCom) is a field where an active commitment to diversity and inclusion is integral to excellence at every level of museum culture, practice and operations.

As an Interpretive Park Ranger Naturalist for the National Park Service in Yosemite National Park, I staffed interpretive/visitor centers; coordinated, planned and led seven-day educational hiking trips on natural sciences and cultural history; and trained, coached, and advised fellow interpretive Park Rangers and volunteers.

As a Zoo Naturalist, I developed exhibit labels for temporary exhibits, teacher resources for school field trips, and facilitated educational programs to visitors of all ages.
