About Tim Hoeffel
There are a lot of building managers and owners, people like you, searching for ways to lower overhead. School board members to CEOs are keenly aware of the rising cost for energy and the effect of their building's performance for their employees and end users. As a forward thinking leader, you are likely aware of the benefits of energy efficiency solutions. Who wants a building that's expensive to operate and pollutes the environment? One of the best kept "secrets" in the energy retrofit business is that improving the building envelope is one of the best investments you can make. Making the envelope cool, dry and airtight reduces HVAC run time, makes people comfortable and productive and might reduce HVAC size when replacement is needed. As a member of the Building Envelope Audit Team (BEAT) I provide an energy audit for the envelope. An air leak Level 3 Investment Grade Audit and a thermal barrier coating for roofs/ceilings and walls. The BEAT air leak audit tells how much each section is costing you and how much it will cost to fix it. Breaking it down gives you the option to choose which ECM to address at your own pace. Either with your maintenance team or through contractors. The audit doesn't interfere with normal operations. The building envelope uses about 30%-50% of a building's energy use, according to DOE estimates. By addressing air flow, heat and moisture, you fix some of the major repair issues like mold and water leaks. Heat and moisture travel with air. Increasing building performance is like putting money in your pocket. You may be happy with what you have, but more is better. The most effective, least costly way to get a more comfortable, profitable and energy efficient building is by keeping it cool, dry and air tight. Change your paint, change your building. It makes everything else work better. Other servicesSub metering, water proofing, passive heat management, corrosion encapsulation and prevention, painting.Customer Review"Tim is a great contractor. We use him for many of our painting jobs. He is very reliable and does a super job for our customers, we've had nothing but great reviews from our customers about his work ethic and how quickly he completes their jobs. CurrentFor heating and cooling problems call your PAINTER. HVAC technicians can only address symptoms. Roofers address water proofing. Neither address the root cause of over heating and cooling. The most effective means of reducing thermal transfer is by reducing the amount of heat available to transfer. The most effective way to do this is to put it where the heat is affecting the surface, instead of burying it in the wall. The root cause of over heating is the sun. My heat blocking coatings can reduce up to 95% of the sun's heat from getting into a building. That's a 6-9 degree interior temperature difference. At 73 degree F, most metal will conduct 350btu's of heat through it and to the other side. 100% heat transfer. One of my coatings will conduct only 4btu's, at least up to 212 degrees. Some of the issues associated with some "air trapper" insulations are addressed in ASHRAE 90.1. For example Table 402R and Table 402S show the reduced Effective R Value by 63% - 67% with metal trusses and framing. My products are not affected by metal trusses nor metal framing which is why it is often specified by architects, engineers and building envelope consultants to be applied to steel studs, beams or other metal substrates, etc.. As noted by a PhD in Fluid Mechanics “Typically the studs are not covered by Fibreglass insulation thus allowing a very high conduction path. The heat loss through these studs can be 30-50% depending on the size of the studs and temperature differential between inside and outside. Naturally, the losses are higher in cold climate. Covering these studs with SuperTherm will help to cut down the heat losses significantly. Consider the fact the thermal conductivity of steel is up to 46 (W/mK) while it is about 0.6 (W/mK) for SuperTherm. This is 76 times less. So it is very smart to spray SuperTherm on these studs and possible on joist and support beams. This is one smart way of preventing big heat losses with a small amount of SuperTherm.”.

CurrentFrom bathrooms to board rooms, Better Painting has you covered. Residential and Commercial painting, insulation, roof coatings and corrosion control. My philosophy is doing a job right the first time with quality materials that last. I have partnered with Superior Products International II, Inc. (SPI Coatings) because of that philosophy. They make a line of coatings that is unique for a few products and tops in the industry in others. Coatings solutions. Cool roof coatings/thermal insulation coatings help building owners and managers preserve their building, lower overhead and meet sustainability goals. Comes in white, cool colors and clear matt finish.Prevent CUI with thermal insulation coatings. Trap the heat on the surface and seals out moisture so metal won't rust. Also increases efficiency. Great for hot pipes, boilers, any hot surface.Permanent encapsulation of lead paint and rust with one coating. Rust Grip is a patened one component MCU that is UV stable and lasts 15-20 years. Use for bridges, tanks, stairs, equipment, anywhere rust is present. This surface tolerant coating reduces prep work, goes on in two coats and reduces application costs. Fade proof colors. A BP&C exclusive! CIC pigments are man made minerals that are some of the most durable, weather and chemical resistant substances know. Because the color is intrinsic to the pigment, the colors last 40 years before any shift is noticable. Some also reflect infrared light, keeping the surface cooler. Can be added to any type of paint. It preserves the paint, preserving the substrate. Better Painting has been serving the Colorado Springs market since 2003. My emphasis has been providing better looking longer lasting solutions for peoples painting problems. I have maintained an A+ BBB rating and repeat business from many of my clients.
