As Creative Director & Strategist, I’m working with clients, agencies and collectives on just about any project, any where, any time, from big to small, pitch or project and anything in between. In my 20 years of wholesome toil I have been a designer, art director, creative director, writer, strategist, team builder, mentor, provocateur, manager and business owner. My work has spanned a wonderfully diverse range of creative communications encompassing design, advertising, events and conferences, brand development, experiential marketing, film and video, exhibitions, internal communications and integrated marketing campaigns.Expertise across such varied disciplines is a rare commodity, as is my ability to nurture and direct a myriad of talented craftspeople and producers needed for all these different fields.I believe that creative communication is all about “the experience” the audience is left with. This has always been at the heart of all my creative work. It starts with the people and ends with the people, my job (and my passion) is making the right connections at every possible touch point.Find out more at:www.anythinginbetween.com or www.thetricyclecollective.com.au/

Creative Director & StrategistTim Hoffmann | Anything In Between Mar 2014 - PresentBased In Melbourne, Australia. Available Anywhere! An independent Creative Director & Strategist with a passion for strategically sound creative solutions. I love to discover the gaps where the insight lives and harness that to translate brand and business objectives into compelling creative executions - irrespective of the medium. Creative Direction. With a good brief, the right information and (you guessed it) time, great ideas inevitably flow. The human brain is inherently creative – it has an amazing ability to uncover connections between different ideas, words, objects and processes. This is what I do best.Communication Strategy. It's not so much what you need to say, but why and how you need to say it that is more important. My experience has given me the strategic skills to understand the problem, envisage the solution and help define the right path to engage any particular audience. Smart strategy leads to great creative.Concept Development.Every problem has a solution. To develop great ideas I believe you have to think first, creatively challenge and deliver flawlessly. With a good dose of curiosity and matching amounts of smarts, great concepts and amazing results can be achieved. The next idea is just waiting for some attention.

National Creative DirectorPrecinct Jan 2004 - Feb 2014Melbourne, AustraliaPrecinct (formerly ABT) | 10 years Executive Creative Director | 2012 to 2014Creative Strategist | 2011 to 2012Creative Director | 2004 to 2011Precinct is a Communications Agency I worked at for 10 years. While it always a team effort, I was instrumental in the growth and success of Precinct during this time. Critical to this was building and nurturing the creative team needed to service the diverse range of mediums Precinct work in such as; live experiences, internal communications, integrated campaigns, digital and interactive, film and video, design, brand identity as well as environments. Precinct built a strong reputation and long term relationships with blue chip clients who respect their brand - and their people. My role encompassed creative direction and strategy on pitches and projects, new business development and ensuring the standard of quality creative thinking and production that has enabled Precinct to reach it’s late 30’s. Precinct has offices in Melbourne, Sydney so my role also meant building and overseeing a staff of up to 13 creatives and network of semi independent creative teams. I also had the responsibility for helping guide the development of the company as part of the leadership team along with the CEO and the management team. -

Senior CreativeGeorge 2002 - 2004Melbourne, AustraliaIn January 2002 life changed, just slightly, when we fell pregnant (well yes, my wife did) and we decided to move “home” from Denmark for that part of our lives. I began work with “george” a start up Advertising Agency as Senior Creative about a month after returning to Australia. “george” was driven and owned by an inspiring strategist who hired me because of my belief that great creative can only be born from great strategy. In the two years I was there we grew from 4 to 15 people, created a whole new bank from scratch and won Emerging Agency of the Year (B&T Agency of the year awards 2003). Not bad for a start up.

Creative Director - International And Healthcare DivisonKunde & Co 1999 - 2002Copenhagen Area, DenmarkKunde & Co are the largest agency in Scandinavia and I was lucky enough to be asked to work with them again (previously in London 1998-99). My role as Senior Art Director included tasks such as; concept development, design, art direction & brand development for a range of both Danish and International clients. I was also rewarded with being named ‘Employee of the Year’ in what has just been voted ‘Agency of the Year’ in Scandinavia (Børsen - 2002). I had the distinct benefit of being a native English speaker and as such was often called on to present various creative concepts to our international clients. This was a fabulous experience! I really enjoy presenting and it gave me the opportunity to hone the skills I already had, as well as being involved in projects from brief to delivery, ensuring creative quality. This quickly lead to me being offered the position of Creative Director of the new International & Healthcare division as of December 2001, a role I shared with a copywriter. Between the 2 of us we were responsible for overall creative quality, the hiring of new staff and managing a team of 11 creatives. -
Art Director - LondonKunde & Co 1998 - 1999London, United KingdomWorking as an Art director on re-branding, corporate material and advertising for a range of clients. We had a small team here so my role was varied and involved design, concept development, photographic art direction, and taking jobs from concept right through to production. Kunde & Co London was a new office of the largest independent Scandinavian Marketing & Advertising Agency, which opened in October 1998. Because of our age and the small size (15 people), I was also involved with setting up working systems and procedures, production management, client briefing and client presentations. -
FounderEncompass Graphic Communications 1996 - 1998Melbourne, AustraliaYou name it, I did it. Creative and Managing Director of my own start up design firm. Responsible for all aspects of running this small creative design studio focussed on print material and corporate identities. Tasks include creative direction, art direction, design, production management, budgets & marketing, strategic planning. I discovered I while i was great at building and running a small business there was a big wide world out there to explore. So I sold the business, sold the house, gave away the dog and headed off overseas.

Designer/Senior DesignerAustralian Business Theatre (Abt) 1992 - 1996Melbourne, AustraliaMy first ever real job and man what a place to start. This was a brand experience agency before the term was ever coined. Here I honed my craft in design and art direction and production management of a range of mediums from print material, exhibition stands, set design, multimedia, web pages, film & video and speaker support presentations. This first job also meant I got a handle on administration tasks like: estimating and controlling budgets, scheduling production in design department and part of team involved in IT management in relation to the design department and its needs.
