Notable achievements included;• Data Centre RelocationThe European Data Centre was relocated from Dublin to Redhill Surrey. This was a 12 month project that due to a zero down time requirement meant that the new data centre had to be built out in parallel with users migrated across in phases. Challenges included replication of live data, thorough testing of applications and integration and coordination of global IT team effort. The project was deemed a success and had the added bonus of a £500,000 a year reduction in co-lo service costs.• The introduction of the Autonomy document management system to the HK office (2012)• The opening of new offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Munich (2013).• The global upgrade to Citrix Xenapp (2013)• The global rollout of Exchange 2010 (2013)• The global rollout of Office 2010 including Payne templates (2013)• The upgrade to Cisco IPT in HK (2013)

Notable accomplishments included:• Offiice RelocationThe management of the £5million IT move of Taylor Wessing's London office from Embankment to New St Square. ‎Challenges included ensuring zero downtime by parallel running (achieved by moving infrastructure out to a data centre) liaising with Practice groups to ensure needs met in new offices and using opportunity to introduce less paper strategy. Reduction of physical storage due to doc management and scanning enhancements resulted in saving of £1million on filing cabinets.• Core business systems standardisationFollowing the merger of Taylor Joynson Garrett and Wessing, the newly formed Taylor Wessing had two accounts, document management and email systems. My team along with German IT staff migrated and centralised to Aderant, FileSite and Exchange. This enabled global collaboration, supported the 'one firm' strategy and centralised support.• Delivering a new Practice Management system. • The introduction of a new global information delivery portal using SharePoint.• Managing the IT components of the firms successful application for the Environmental Certification ISO 14001.• Introducing a firm wide Client Relationship Management solution.• Planning and implementing a Knowledge Management system including technologies to replace the paper file with the e-file.• Relocation of all core business systems to data center resulting in a ‘thin building’ infrastructure• Vendor contract renegotiations resulting in average 10% saving on IT budget. • Introduction of new remote access systems to increase lawyer roaming flexibility.
