I am a professional mechanical engineer with one year of experience in consulting. I am a strategic and results-driven junior mechanical engineer with leadership experience. I have achieved success and surpass all objectives laid out by my supervisors in my final year project at UKZN. I gained valuable experience through the design, fabrication and testing of a propulsion and pressure management system that I was responsible for as part of the testing rig for a rocket propellant tank. The propulsion and pressurisation management system was selected to be further developed by the university to be integrated into their rocket designs. The problem solving and collaborative skills I learned from this have greatly assisted me through my year at Hatch. Hatch has challenged me to apply and manage myself, helping me to grow exponentially. I have developed a strong background in mechanical package engineering and in the mineral sands mining industry.   Site Inspections at a mineral sands plant in Mozambique: - Inspection of existing and decommissioned equipment according to PFDs and PIDs- Inspections that encompassed the following equipment: PD Pump stations, centrifugal slurry and water pumps, fire pumps, cyclones, vibrations screens, spirals, distributors, sumps, and a surge bin.- Identification and inspection of existing fire systems on a Wet Concentrator Plant, workshops and diesel refuel stations.- Engaged with client and nurtured client relations. Mechanical Work Package management for a mineral sands plant (Feasibility Study)- Complied Technical Specifications, Datasheets, Vendor Documentation and Data, Package Document Lists, Technical Bid Evaluations, Clarification Registers and a Mechanical Equipment List - Weekly multi-discipline model reviews and progress meetings - Quality control experience through participation in HAZOPs, risk assessments and reviews - Engaged with Vendors, the Client, Procurement and Quality to ensure accurate alignment and quality - AFT Fathom Training - Slurry pump calculations performed through hand calculations and AFT Fathom - Hydraulic pump report writing - Integration across disciplines such as process, piping and electrical & instrumentation to align MEL, PFDs, P&IDs and Electrical Load List - Responsible for development of a specialized Stacker package which involved modifying a 2T jib crane to house a cyclone – this is the first of it’s kind on the mineral sands plant - Responsible for MEL for population of dimensions, size, capacity and pricing estimation which involved engagement across the disciplines. - Interrogation of fire pipeline isometrics to identify worst case scenarios to model in AFT Fathom and size fire pumps according to duties required. - Design of a subsea pipeline and pump system to transport HMC. This involves a hydraulic pump calculation on AFT Fathom, hydraulic pump reports and a CAPEX.
