Software Engineer - Watson Internet Of Things PlatformIbm Jan 2014 - Sep 2015Armonk, New York, Ny, UsI worked as Software Engineer on the IBM Watson Internet of Things Platform product team. The team consisted of about 15 engineers operating in 2-week sprints. While delivering new code on a daily basis I focused on quality and usability through a variety of activities.- Introduced AngularJS to the team and migrated the UI off jQuery which increased the team's velocity, reduced the build time of the UI by 10x and the size by 5x and increased the performance- Introduced unit and integration testing for the UI and integrated it in the CI process- Acted as POC for UI engineering and testing on the team and mentored other teams- Worked closely with the design team to ensure the UI is produced to spec- Introduced unit testing for Java EE APIs which reduced the amount of bugs identified in integration tests by 2x- Built a JavaScript client library for node.js and the browser which connects to the service's REST and MQTT endpoints https://github.com/ibm-watson-iot/iot-nodejs- Built an Internet of Things application in which the user can move 3D objects in their browser by using their phone.
