Lead Developer Advocate for Dell DevOps and Multi-Cloud business units. As Principal Cloud Economist, I did technical and operational deep dives with customers to understand their architecture, technical strategies, processes and procedures, and organizational politics. This involved speaking with stakeholders from C-Level executives to storage engineers in order to get a full understanding of the scope of their AWS cloud usage.This resulted in cost savings finding of over $30 million dollars for the customers I consulted with, as well as over $350 million in negotiated private pricing agreements with AWS.This role was both very deeply technical, but also requires an understanding of the business necessities behind architectural decisions as well so that practical recommendations could be made.Additionally, I provided pre-sales engineering assistance to qualify and scope consulting projects, and provided technical oversight to two other cloud economists.

As Principal Solutions Architect, I not only guided customers who were looking to make their foray into cloud computing by running private clouds of on-demand bare metal, I also aided cloud-native companies who wanted to realize the increased control and performance of bare metal with lower and more predictable costs.This included qualifying leads, discovery projects, creating and performaing customer demos, as well as office hours and brown bags.

As Mission Cloud's first Technical Account Manager, I was able to take what I'd learned as a TAM at AWS and apply it in a different context at one of AWS's premier partners. I performed deep-dive cost optimization and Well Architected Reviews, conducted cadence calls with assigned CSMs, and accompanied sales teams to show customers the value of enterprise support.Most notably, I worked on-site with the application, database, and infrastructure teams of one of the pharmaceutical companies working on the Covid-19 vaccines very early in the global pandemic to ensure that they would be high performing, resilient, secure, and cost efficient platforms for critical research.

Working directly with leadership, engineering, and operations groups from small startups to Fortune 500 companies, I was the voice of the customer to support teams, to service teams, and development teams in AWS. I gave metric-based feedback to customer on their utilization and expenditures, and ways to optimize these to reduce cost via office hours, cadence calls, and quarterly business reviews.I also providing reviews to my customers for their existing architecture, helped them develop best practices internally to support that architecture, and offered guidance to engineering teams on future iterations of their platforms.I advocated for AWS services through workshops, immersion days, deep-dives, and other technical presentations and talks and found ways to help customers better utilize AWS by developing and nurturing interpersonal relationships with the teams I supported.
