I ran a busy IT department covering all aspects of IT including web design and e-commerce, IT support and network management, as well as managing an outbound dialler system for our call centre. The IT department also covered a facilities role for the company.The IT department sourced all IT related systems and hardware (covering network and application systems right through to premises alarms and door access systems). As part of my role with the company I managed the expansion from the initial 2nd floor location within the premises through an expansion onto the 1st floor and more recently into the ground floor as the business and its systems grew. I have specified, ordered and managed the implementation of a new dialler system for the outbound call centre, a virtualised server system for two separate domains as well as a full call recording system along with a call statistics and IVR facilities. As the company expanded through acquisition I was involved in the planning for these acquisitions, ensuring the IT systems are in line with the company’s plans as well as offering input to the board and discussing technical issues with staff of any possible acquisitions. Within my role used my previous experience in the manufacturing and wholesale / distribution sectors adding to it with the challenges brought by the running of a group of financial companies in what can be a fast-paced and heavily regulated environment.
